Chewy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

My nickname for these cookies are "Flood Cookies", because I made a nice, warm batch of these for our sandbagging crew that helped us with our house for Flood 2001. Thank YOU! This recipe was actually adapted from the Robin Hood Oatmeal Cookie recipe on the Oats package!

3/4 cup margarine, softened
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla
3/4 cup flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups large flake oats
1 1/2 cups raisins

- Cream together butter, sugars, egg, and vanilla.
- Combine flour, soda, cinnamon and salt. Stir in oats and raisins.
- Drop dough onto greased baking sheets. Leave as mound.
- Bake at 350° for 13 minutes.
- Makes about 36 small cookies.

  1. This looks fantastic. We have a tradition when we camp to always finish the meal with some sort of ice cream...either Dilly Bars from our friend who owns the local Dairy Queen or some other sort. This would be a huge hit! Thanks for sharing!
