Hello! I’m Alison Zulyniak and welcome to my Prairie Story!

I’m a wife, mother of two (well three, if you include my spoiled rotten dog), and oldest daughter who grew up on our family grain farm in southern Manitoba, the heart of the Canadian prairies. For a moment or two, I lived the city life, holding executive sales leadership and marketing positions for software and business solution companies ...wearing black heels and power suits to work every day. I ate sushi and my hobby was going to the spa. I travelled the world for business and even some pleasure. Then, just like it was supposed to happen, I met and fell in love with a good old Saskatchewan boy. He felt like "home" to me.

Now, as we've been building our life together, we have been blessed to be living in our dream home outside city limits, raising two healthy, happy, beautiful children. I love it!

My Prairie Story is about sharing all the good things that have been instilled in me growing up and living on the prairies - my new and old family recipes, nurturing my green thumb, making my house a home, and just keeping up with life! Thank you to all recipe swappers, blog hoppers, my loyal readers, Twitter and Facebook followers, fellow foodies, family and friends for your support. I'm so happy to be able to share my Prairie Story, and appreciate that you take a precious moment or two out of your busy day to visit my blog!

  1. Allison, I am really enjoying your site and wondered if you would like to do a recipe exchange. I could create a recipe from your site, feature it and link to your blog and you would do likewise. Then we could release the recipes on the same day. Let me know what you think.

  2. Love you site! I'm also from the prairies of SK :)

  3. Hi, I love your site, especially the recipes, we will definitely be trying those! I just wanted to mention that the colour of your text on your recipes index page can be a bit hard on the eyes, even with my good eyesight :)

Hey Allison, just found your blog!!! Love it! I am a Saskatchewan prairie girl myself, but I did not find myself a farm boy. Married to a US Coast Guard living in Amherst New York. My heart is always in the Prairies!!

  6. Hi Alison, you have a beautiful site here. Visually it is very appealing but its also got such a good feel about it-like getting back to basics and being appreciative of the simply things in life. Your polka dot background is so cute.

  7. Hi Alison I really like your site and always enjoy your blogs. I would also like to advice you about adding more blogs and that should be about other household furniture such as about doors and etc
